Our future....wheres my controller?

This week I thought instead of laying out some facts, like we've been doing for the last few weeks, I’d write more about the difference in gaming since the old days and what effects the new era of games, consoles, and gaming has had on ourselves and our lives.

Looking at my last entry and thinking about the console and games we have today shows how much the world wants gaming! If it were still something trivial and simple, why would we intend on evolving it so far? HD gaming, full online social gaming, gaming on our mobile phones, its everywhere! It's become a part of our lives so much that we feel the need to go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money (we don't have) on things like headsets, hdmi cables, points to buy virtual things, and all the other crap that comes along; yet millions of us still do it because it's the norm.
When I first got the Sega master system II I remember waiting weeks to get a new game, but not being too bothered because it wasn't as major as it is now. I got annoyed a few months ago because I couldn't go and buy TF2 and Left 4 Dead for my new steam account. Writing this out I can see why sometimes people perceive us as childish, but again it's something we have become a part of and our addiction needs to be fed!

You can see how much people live for gaming through the whole "Xbox360 vs PS3" war. It's quite idiotic to be honest as both consoles produce a similar amount of games; obviously each has its own "unique" talents, still, why do we care so much on what other people own? It's not our money. I have the best example for this; I recently (stupidly) went out and bought an Xbox360 under the need to game. I later received a call off my friend in London, and during the conversation I told him I now own an Xbox360. From this point on our conversation consisted of, WHY DID U DO THAT? ARE YOU DUMB? WHY DIDNT U GET A PS3 blah blah froblah. Then several others decided to call and let their opinions be known again...blah blah blah. To be fair to these people, though I did die a little inside, I love playstation (although Sony are twats), and hate the fact that around 90% of Xbox users would love to do nothing more than butter up masterchief and dry hump his shiny green armour for days!

I also have a feeling that Bill Gates is the devil, but he does give us windows so he can't be that evil! Again, I've just fallen into the whole console argument over what other people do, and that seems to be my point.
Gaming has become so much more than a pass time, it's like a second life! You need to care this much! You need to be ignorant and blissfully annoying to others because in fact, that's real life!
What does the future hold?
More insufferable buys, more annoying 12 year olds online, and more console wars, simply because gaming will continue to evolve along side human beings and technology; more intense realism, and more intense interaction with our virtual lives!
